Your child dreams it up. Then it comes to life.

They invent the characters, build the world and decide what happens. Yarnable turns it into an illustrated audiobook, with a picture for every chapter and a narrator telling their story.

Chapter 1

At the breakfast table, the house was far too quiet. There were no silly rabbit hops. There were no velvet floppy ears brushing against the tea mugs. "Where is Clover?" cried Mia.

Then, they remembered. The swings. The big oak tree. The green park bench. Clover, Mia's soft green toy rabbit, was still sitting out in the cold park, all alone.

Coco, the family's scruffy little dog, sat by the front door. She pricked up her ears because her family needed her. She gave a sharp, determined bark. She knew exactly what she had to do.

How they make it

They're the author. Every choice is theirs.

  1. 1

    Dream up the idea

Whatever they come up with, typed in just as they said it. Stuck? Today's sparks and a roll of the dice will get them going.

“A dragon who wants to be a librarian”

  2. 2

    Invent the characters

Up to five: a brave little sister, grandpa, the dog, a favourite toy. They choose every name and look, or add a photo, and each character gets a real part.

Ember the dragon · Grandpa Ted · Biscuit the cat

  3. 3

    Shape their world

They choose the feel, one of six illustration looks, the narrator's voice and how long it runs, from a 2-minute tale to a 20-minute adventure.

Funny · Storybook look · Alice reads · 6 chapters

  4. 4

    Have the last word

Read the draft together. A friendlier dragon? A twist at the end? Just say so. When it's exactly as they imagined, it becomes an illustrated audiobook.

“Give the dragon a best friend”

    …their audiobook

Safety, built in

Checked at every step, before your child sees a thing

An independent AI safety checker reads each story as it's made. If something isn't right for your child's age, it never reaches them.

  1. 1

    Their idea

Checked as soon as it's written. Anything harmful is turned away before you choose characters, and you're never charged for it.

  2. 2

    The characters

Names, roles and looks are checked too, and unkind remarks about how someone looks are left out.

  3. 3

    The finished story

Every chapter, and the plan for every picture, is read before you can open the draft. If it misses your child's age, it's rewritten once and checked again.

  4. 4

    Every change

Edits and new titles go through the same check. If an edit fails, the story goes back to how it was and your credit is returned.

  • ✓Written for their age

Four age bands, from toddlers to teens, each with its own length, vocabulary, picture style and narration pace.

  • ✓Gentle with hard things

A story can help with missing someone, even a pet who has died. It's told with love and comfort, never by showing the loss itself.

  • ✓Original stories only

Famous franchise characters are turned away, so every story is your family's own.

  • ✓Photos aren't kept

Deleted as soon as the characters are drawn, always within 24 hours, and never used to train AI.

  • ✓Private by default

Your library is yours alone, with no public feed and no sharing with strangers. Parents hold the account.

  • ✓Never for advertising

We don't sell your data, train our own models on your stories, or build advertising profiles.

Their story, their say

Not quite right? Just say so.

Before the pictures and narration are made, the draft is theirs to shape. Ask for a change in plain words and the story follows their lead.

The dragon roared, and every book in the library shook.

Make the dragon friendlier

The dragon gave a shy little puff of smoke and waved hello to the books.
